| Michael Blieden (Melvin) - Mike began writing and performing in the live alternative comedy scene in NY. From 1996 to 2000 he was a correspondent for Comedy Central's The Daily Show. After moving to LA he worked as a staff writer on NBC's Everything's Relative, starring Jill Clayburgh and Jeffrey Tambor. He has developed shows for Fox and NBC with partners Matt Price and Jason Nash. Blieden has also recently appeared on ER, The King of Queens, and The Ellen Show. Phyro-Giants! is Mike's second play. His first, Staged Reading, premiered at the HBO Workspace in April 2001, directed by Craig Carlisle. | |
| Stephanie Courtney (Alex) - Stephanie recently performed at the 2001 Aspen Comedy Arts Festival as a stand-up comedian and as a performer in Those Courtney Girls, a play she co-wrote with her sister Jennifer. She also recently performed her stand-up on NBC's Late Friday. Stephanie's mostly glad and a bit concerned that she reminds Blieden of the person he based Alex on. | |
| Annabelle Gurwitch (Sarah) - Annabelle has co-hosted the very popular Dinner and a Movie on TBS for the past six years. Television appearances include over 30 Movies Of The Week and episodics including Get Real, L.A. Docs, Seinfeld, Murphy Brown, and 2 seasons anchoring Not Necessarily The News. Matt has been a series regular on two MTV shows (Apt. 2F and Idiot Savants), and is a 2 year veteran of the Aspen Comedy Arts Festival where he performed with Blieden and Nash. His one-man show Little Adults opens at the Groundling Theater on Monday Oct. 29th, and will play every Monday at 8:00pm through Nov. 19th. | |

She also recently appeared in the critically acclaimed Pete's Garage. Kathleen can currently be seen on the IFC in Amy's Breast starring Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara. Kathleen was delirious with joy when invited to participate in Phyro-Giants!, as most of her other waitressing jobs have placed too much emphasis on competence and congeniality. | |
| Steve Rudnick (Director) - Steve directed the critically acclaimed productions of "The Jack Monty Show", "Night and Her Stars" and "Triple Threats", for which he received an "L.A. Weekly" Awards best director nomination. He is currently the Consulting Producer for the WB's midseason show, "The Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star."
